The guard will issue a printed pass or a re-useable proximity card. The printed pass will
contain either a bar code or an exit code printed on the pass. Each code is unique and will
only work one time to operate the visitor exit gate. If proximity cards are used, a retrieving
reader will be located at the exit gate. The card is read as it is captured from the visitor. For
printed passes, the exit gate will be equipped with either a keypad head or a scanner head.
The officer is able to look at a screen which will show all visitors still on the property at any
time. As visitors leave, they are removed from the list. The officer is able to selectively
invalidate an exit pass.
